However, these ERP systems may lack certain functions, such as call centre support, community management or social network management.<\/p>\n<p>The following graph helps you to better understand the relationship between CRM and ERP:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Venn_Diagram_Draft_2.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.softwareadvice.com\/resources\/erp-vs-crm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"erp-crm-integration-a-critical-point\"><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"erp-crm-integration-a-critical-point\"><\/span>ERP \/ CRM integration: a critical point<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>ERP and CRM systems must be able to exchange data: the easiest way to do this is through <strong>technical integration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For example, the finance department may need access to the CRM system to <a href=\"https:\/\/salesdorado.com\/en\/hiring\/design-compensation-plan\/\">calculate sales commissions<\/a> to run the payroll or to build up sliding scale rates.<\/p>\n<p>A CRM system added to an ERP platform also allows to observe the pricing structure in a global way, and to measure KPIs (e.g. cost of customer acquisition). <\/p>\n<p>This is one of the reasons why some ERP solutions integrate CRM directly. However, it can be expensive and difficult to maintain this integration between ERP and CRM over time.<\/p>\n<p>That is why an ERP system with a CRM on the platform offers many advantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Buying a unified ERP and CRM system is <strong>cheaper<\/strong> than buying two separate pieces of software<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>data is updated in real time<\/strong>, without having to wait for the transfer of information or the middleware connection<\/li>\n<li>ERP systems built from the ground up better support transaction processes.
