Is there such a thing as a complete, free commercial CRM for 10 users up to 1,000 contacts? Well, with Agile CRM, yes! The best part is that despite the features, the tool is actually very complete: lead scoring, sales automation, sales gamification… impressive 🙂

The problem is that, given the number of modules and the UX that can be improved, it’s a bit tricky to get the hang of (especially if you’re a beginner). But at this price, especially for small businesses, it’s worth a try!

In this article, we review the software’s full range of features and prices, and compile the main feedback from its users.

My opinion of Agile CRM in a nutshell

Perimeter Score My opinion
Overall rating 4 A very complete and interesting tool in functional terms, but difficult to get to grips with when you’re a novice!
Ease of use 3,9 The UX is a little dated at times, and not all modules are fully translated – could do better!
Easy to install 3,9 Functional depth comes at a price, and adopting the tool in your teams will take a little longer than average.
Customer service 3,7 Clearly needs improvement, little (if any!) responsiveness
Integrations 4,5 Agile CRM integrates with key market tools, and on the social networking front, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter integrations are a real plus.
Value for money 4,5 Excellent! Apart from the steep learning curve, the free version is very comprehensive and will allow you to test Agile CRL in depth.

#1 Contact management in Agile CRM

Contact management on Agile is fairly intuitive. The tool lets you import your contacts from different sources:

  • CSV files
  • From Salesforce
  • From other tools: Google, Stripe, Shopify, Quickbooks and Freshbooks.

Contact import with Agile CRM

Once your contacts have been imported, Agile CRM lets you optimize the organization of your contacts using the filters in the right-hand column. The following are particularly useful:

  • Tags: Labels to personalize as customers, prospects or partners, for example.
  • Score: Sort your leads according to their score, as part of your lead scoring strategy.
  • Automation Status: Sort your contacts according to their evolution within your marketing automation workflows.
  • Owner: Search for leads assigned to a particular salesperson.

These filters enable you to navigate quickly through your customer database, making it more efficient when you need to take action on a particular contact group.

Contact management

In addition to organizing contacts, the tool lets you enrich the detailed record of each contact based on interactions with the prospect. The visual timeline is interesting because it gives you a global view of the lead’s evolution and the actions taken by your sales team.

Salesdorado’s opinion
Agile CRM’s contact management tool is intuitive, and the filters are very useful for organizing your contacts and identifying specific groups. Quite visual, the solution is pleasant to use.

#2 The Agile CRM sales funnel

Opportunity management

Agile CRM pipeline

The Agile CRM sales pipeline

Once again, Agile CRM offers a visual sales pipeline that’s easy to follow. The Kanban view lets you drag and drop your leads into the appropriate column as they progress through your sales funnel.

By moving the cursor over the “title” (e.g. “Prospect”) of each column, you’ll obtain the total value of business as well as the average value of business in the column in question.

A minor drawback is that these columns have fixed names, such as New, Prospect, Proposal, Won and Lost. These titles cannot be modified, and column sizes cannot be reduced or increased for customization purposes.

Automations

Agile CRM Automation

Example of workflow with Agile CRM

Another interesting feature to reinforce your sales processes and save time for your sales teams: automation. Typically used by marketing teams, they are useful in that they enable you to trigger scenarios based on the changing status of your leads.

In the example above, when the deal is created, the scenario is triggered and an email is automatically sent. By automatically including your prospects in lead nurturing processes and automatically feeding them with relevant content, including on social networks, you can make your sales team’s job easier and boost your sales performance.

“Sales Gamification

agile CRM gamification

Compete with your sales force

A less common feature offered by Agile CRM: Sales gamification. This concept aims to establish (healthy) competition within your sales team by comparing the performance of each salesperson, the contracts won, the calls made and the revenue generated.

Users can consult the personalized leaderboard to monitor their performance in real time in relation to their colleagues. The idea is to generate a positive emulation that pulls the whole team upwards.

Salesdorado’s opinion
In terms of opportunity management, Agile CRM is very comprehensive, and the automation and sales gamification features are a real plus for your sales processes. On the other hand, it’s a shame you can’t customize the pipeline!

#3 Ease of use & set-up

Creating an account with Agile CRM is easy and free. You’re up and running in just a few minutes, and an onboarding video shows you all the key functions as you get started. Navigation is fairly straightforward: you move between tabs via the vertical ribbon on the left.

Navigation and access to basic functionalities are fairly straightforward. On the other hand, when it comes to more advanced functionalities, Agile CRM doesn’t make things easy for us: there’s a lack of guidance and the UX is a little dated, which doesn’t make it any easier to get to grips with the tool.

Some elements, such as the onboarding video dating from 2015 and the workflow editor, are a little old school, but they have the merit of working :).

There’s also a minor problem with the translation of the various modules: not all elements are translated into French, which can be a hindrance for some of your employees.

Salesdorado’s opinion
Overall, Agile CRM isn’t the most intuitive tool on the market, but the fact that you can test the tool for free is a big advantage if you’re hesitating about investing in CRM software.

#4 Agile CRM integrations

Agile CRM offers plug-ins to integrate its tool with the main software solutions on the market:

  • Forms and landing pages: Gravity form, Unbounce, Leadpages, etc.
  • CMS: WordPress, Joomla, Drupal,…
  • Ecommerce: Shopify, Woocommerce, Magento,…
  • Billing: Quickbooks, Stripe, Braintree, etc.
  • Support: Zendesk, Clickdesk, HelpScout,…
  • Social networks: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus,…

Salesdorado’s opinion
Integrations with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn in particular are very powerful: they enable you to enrich your customer data based on the behavior of your contacts on social networks.

#5 Customer reviews of Agile CRM

Overall, feedback from Agile CRM users is good, with :

  • 4.2 / 5 on Capterra (398 reviews)
  • 4.1 / 5 on G2 (278 reviews)

Advantages & disadvantages reported by users

  • The price : “…the price is unbeatable. I mean really, you can use this platform for free up to 50,000 contacts. It’s pretty incredible”; “it’s almost an all-in-one product, but at a much more accessible price”.
  • Functional depth: “I’m also REALLY impressed with the tracking aspect…”; “I was originally looking for a marketing automation tool for myself, but most are incredibly expensive. I decided to give it a try and, after a brief learning period, I really fell in love with it.”
  • Integrations : “…it integrates perfectly with everything I need!”; “Its greatest strength is the ease of use and integration with multiple tools.”; “Today, the tool is integrated with Bria and Skype, as well as LinkedIn and Facebook. Everything in one place, it’s the most convenient CRM platform!”
  • Getting started “This software can seem a little intimidating at first. It takes a bit of getting used to if you’ve never used a CRM before.”; “More resources on their site would allow us to use the features more effectively”; “It’s a bit complex for new users.”
  • Customer service : “I’m pretty sure the CEO is their only customer service representative. Every time I had a problem with the platform, it was the same man who picked up the phone”; “Support was only helpful on a superficial level.”
  • UX: “sometimes it can be a little hard to find what you need”; “the user interface for managing the campaign was messy and didn’t work as expected”.

#6 Agile CRM pricing

Agile CRM price list

In terms of pricing, Agile CRM offers 4 packages (they include Marketing and Support functionalities, but we’re only interested in the Sales part here):

  • Free – We’re insisting on this because it’s quite rare (if not very rare) for a free version to be able to exploit a tool to such an extent. Here, you can manage up to 1,000 contacts and up to 10 internal users! From a functional point of view, you can use the sales pipeline we’ve described, as well as lead scoring. Ideal for getting started if you’re a small business 🙂
  • Starter – For $8.99 / user / month up to 10,000 contacts and full email integration!
  • Regular – For $29.99 / user / month, up to 50,000 contacts and access to the opportunity tracking and analysis tool.
  • Enterprise – From $47.99 / user / month, for an unlimited number of contacts and access to all features.

Salesdorado’s opinion
It’s a powerful tool, and to be able to exploit it so freely is a stroke of luck! This means you don’t have to spend any money when you learn to use it 🙂
