Enriching your B2B database without running afoul of the RGPD is the headache of every Sales and Growth team in Europe. American giants like Apollo or Lusha offer impressive contact databases, but rely on pre-scraped data, stored on servers subject to the Cloud Act.

In the event of a audit, good luck justifying the origin of your emails.

This is precisely the terrain on which Dropcontact has built its value proposition. This French startup, founded in 2016, claims a radically different approach: zero database, real-time email generation via proprietary algorithms, structural GDPR compliance.

Clearly, this is probably the only enrichment tool that your DPO will validate with his eyes closed.

But this “GDPR first” approach comes at a price…and with limitations: no mobile numbers, a “pay per search” pricing model that can frustrate, and performance that deteriorates significantly as soon as you leave Europe.

We’ve analyzed the tool in depth to give you an honest review and help you decide if Dropcontact is right for you. Read our Dropcontact review.

Our opinion of Dropcontact in a nutshell

Perimeter Score Our opinion
Overall rating 4,4 Dropcontact is the B2B enrichment reference for French and European companies that want to combine data quality and GDPR compliance. The tool is excellent on its core target (France/Europe, outbound email) but shows its limitations for cold call (no mobiles) and international markets.
Email quality 4,7 This is our major strength. The emails generated are 98% valid (85% for catch-alls), with a bounce rate of less than 2% across Europe. Field tests confirm this: in France, we often achieve 94% enrichment with less than 1.5% bounce.
GDPR Compliance 5,0 Unbeatable. No database storage, real-time generation, EU servers, detailed legal documentation. It’s practically the only enhancement tool that DPOs unreservedly recommend.
Enrichment France 4,8 Dropcontact is very good on French company data: SIREN, SIRET, NAF code, intracommunity VAT, number of employees, standardized address.
Quality-price ratio 3,8 Correct for medium to high volumes (>500 contacts/month), but the “pay per search” model (where you pay even without results…) can be frustrating. Unprofitable for small volumes or difficult markets (US, niches).
CRM integrations 4,4 Strong native integrations with Pipedrive, HubSpot and Salesforce. Automatic CRM cleansing (de-duplication, feature updates, company change detection) is a real time-saver on a daily basis.

What exactly is Dropcontact?

Dropcontact,is a French B2B data enrichment and cleansing solution founded in 2016. The tool generates nominative professional emails, enriches contact & company records and maintains a clean CRM thanks to automatic deduplication.

What sets Dropcontact apart from the competition is its technical architecture. Where Apollo, Lusha or ZoomInfo rely on huge, pre-captured databases (with all the GDPR risks that implies), Dropcontact stores no data at all. The tool generates and verifies emails in real time via proprietary algorithms and SMTP test servers.

dropcontact principle

Specifically, you provide a first name, last name and website (or company name) and Dropcontact deduces the professional email address by testing different patterns (prenom.nom@, p.nom@, prenom@…) then instantly checks deliverability.

Salesdorado’s opinion
Dropcontact is clearly positioned as the premium European alternative to the American giants. If your main market is France or Europe and GDPR compliance is an issue (or a sales pitch to your own customers), this is probably the best choice.

Dropcontact’s key features

Email Finder & Email Verifier

This is Dropcontact’s core business. The tool generates nominative business emails from minimal information: a first name, a last name and a website (or, failing that, a company name).

All you have to do is upload your Excel file with these three columns to Dropcontact.

The process is fully automated. Dropcontact tests different email patterns ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected]…) using proprietary algorithms, then verifies deliverability in real time via SMTP servers.

The advertised guarantees are solid: 98% validity on processed emails and over 85% for catch-all domains (those servers which accept all emails, even invalid ones, and which traditionally pose problems for verification tools…).

In addition to email generation, Dropcontact can also be used to qualify and standardize existing emails. The tool can distinguish business emails from personal emails, nominative emails from generic ones (such as contact@ or info@), detect domain typos and correct them automatically. This is very useful for cleaning up an existing database prior to a campaign, for example.

Contact enrichment

Dropcontact is not limited to email. For each contact, the tool can enrich several additional fields:

  • Business telephone numbers are added when available, in international format (E.164 standard). Beware, however: by choice of GDPR compliance, Dropcontact only provides business landline numbers, never personal mobiles. This is an accepted limitation, but one that can be blocking if your strategy relies on cold calling.
  • The contact’s function and position are enriched when the information can be found. The LinkedIn profile is also added, with an announced completion rate of around 85% (difficult to verify…).
  • Dropcontact also adds civility (Mr./Mrs.) and automatically corrects misspelled first names or name/first name inversions. It may seem trivial, but when you’re dealing with thousands of contacts, these automatic corrections are a real time-saver.
  • Finally, the tool detects company changes. When a contact has changed company, Dropcontact updates the email, phone, position and legal information.

Corporate enrichment: the focus on France

This is where Dropcontact really stands out from the international competition. On French companies, the tool enriches a level of detail rarely equaled.

The legal data is particularly comprehensive: SIREN number, SIRET, intra-Community VAT, NAF code (sector of activity), headcount range, postal address standardized to AFNOR norms.

The company website is retrieved from the name or email, and the company phone is added in international format.

Salesdorado’s opinion
Dropcontact’s enterprise enrichment is clearly calibrated for the French market. If you’re prospecting French SMEs and ETIs, you’ll have access to a level of legal and firmographic data that American tools simply don’t offer. For foreign companies, on the other hand, enrichment will be much more limited.

CRM deduplication and cleaning

In addition to enrichment, Dropcontact offers basic cleansing functions that address a real problem: the gradual deterioration in CRM data quality.

The deduplication engine is particularly clever. It detects and merges duplicates even without common fields, by cross-referencing name, email, company and other weak signals. The merge intelligently manages conflicting information (for example, two different job titles for the same contact) by consolidating the most relevant data.

This is particularly useful if you work with Pipedrive, HubSpot or Salesforce. No need to manually clean up duplicates or track down incomplete records: Dropcontact does it automatically and continuously.

Integrations

Native CRM integrations

Dropcontact integrates natively with the market’s leading CRMs: Pipedrive (the most mature integration), HubSpot and Salesforce. Zoho integration has been announced (at the time of writing, in January 2026).

In this “CRM integration” mode, Dropcontact automatically enriches contacts, leads and organizations as soon as they enter the CRM. The tool detects and merges duplicates in real time, continuously updates data (position, email, legal info) and maintains a clean database without manual intervention.

Installation is presented as “plug & play in less than 5 minutes”, with no IT intervention required, provided you have admin rights to the CRM. In practice, we recommend that you monitor credit consumption over the first few weeks (enrichment loop bugs can occur…).

API and no-code

For technical teams or automation workflows, Dropcontact offers a lead generation API. It can be consumed directly or via classic no-code platforms: Zapier, Make, n8n.

The ecosystem of no-code integrations enables Dropcontact to be connected to a wide range of SDR  tools: Lemlist, La Growth Machine, Waalaxy, Phantombuster… This makes it possible to build complete workflows such as “LinkedIn scraping > Dropcontact enrichment > send to CRM > trigger email sequence”.

Drag & drop and Google Sheets

For users without a CRM or for one-off operations, Dropcontact offers an easy-to-use “drag & drop” mode:

  • Upload a CSV, Excel or TXT file containing at least first name, last name and website (or company name).
  • You map the columns
  • The tool enriches the file in batch mode.

The interface is really well done.

There’s also a Google Sheets extension for directly enriching spreadsheet rows with Dropcontact data (email, job title, company data), without leaving the Workspace interface.

Test Dropcontact on your files
The drag & drop mode is the best way to test Dropcontact on your real target. Upload a sample of 100-200 contacts and measure the enrichment rate before committing yourself.

Dropcontact rates: how much does it really cost?

The Email Finder model (credits)

The first pricing model is based on a credit system. One credit corresponds to one search (email found + verification + contact and company enrichment). Credits are consumed as part of a monthly subscription. :

Monthly volume Price/month Cost per credit
500 credits 29 € 0,05 €
2,500 credits 79 € 0,03 €
10,000 credits 199 € 0,019 €

The cost per credit is highly degressive: from 5 centimes for small volumes to less than 2 centimes for large volumes.

The CRM integration model

The second model is aimed at companies who want to connect Dropcontact directly to their CRM (Pipedrive, HubSpot, Salesforce). In this case, billing is based on the number of contacts in the CRM, not on the number of searches.

Rates are personalized and available on quotation. We scoured the forums. In particular, we read the feedback of a user who mentions a rate of €169/month for 10,000 contacts in Pipedrive.

Important point: CRM integration credits cannot be used for API, unit search or file enrichment. These are two distinct plans with separate uses.

The sticking point: pay per search vs. pay per result

This is the main criticism of Dropcontact: you’re billed per search, not per result found. In other words, if the algorithm doesn’t find the email, the credit is still used up.

This is technically logical (Dropcontact’s cost is linked to the algorithmic calculation, not to the result), but it’s a little frustrating for the user. On a difficult file (companies with a low profile, niche sectors, contacts outside Europe), 15-20% of the credits can easily be consumed with no result.

Salesdorado’s opinion
Dropcontact’s pricing model is optimized for medium to high volumes in the European market. If you enrich less than 500 contacts/month or if your target is mainly outside Europe, do your calculations before committing yourself.

Dropcontact: advantages and disadvantages

  • Unbeatable GDPR compliance: this is the sledgehammer argument, as we’ve seen. For regulated sectors or companies selling to GDPR-conscious customers, it’s a real competitive advantage.
  • Exceptional email quality in France/Europe: field tests confirm enrichment rates of 87-94% with less than 2% bounce. This is well above the market average in this zone. Your domain reputation will thank you.
  • Very rich company enrichment for France: SIREN, SIRET, NAF code, intra-Community VAT, headcount range, standardized address… American tools do not offer this level of detail.
  • Powerful native CRM integrations: CRM integration works well, and automatic CRM cleansing (de-duplication, feature updates, company change detection) saves a tremendous amount of time on a daily basis.
  • Responsive French customer support: this is a point that comes up again and again in the reviews. The team is French-speaking, and responses are prompt.
  • No mobile numbers: this is Dropcontact’s assumed choice to remain GDPR compliant, but it’s a real limitation. If your prospecting strategy relies on cold calling, you’ll need to supplement with a tool like Kaspr or Lusha. Dropcontact only provides professional fixes.
  • Frustrating “pay per search” model: you pay per search, not per result. On a difficult file (niches, outside Europe), 15-20% of credits can be consumed without an email being found. This is technically logical, but perceived as unfair by many users.
  • Downgraded performance outside Europe: the tests we’ve read show 62% enrichment in the US versus 94% in France. If you’re doing a lot of international prospecting, Dropcontact isn’t the ideal tool (Apollo or Lusha offer better global coverage).
  • Unprofitable for small volumes: with a minimum charge of €29/month for 500 credits, freelancers or micro-structures with fewer than 200-300 contacts/month will often have unused credits. ROI becomes mediocre on these profiles.
Salesdorado’s opinion
Dropcontact excels in its core target market: French and European Sales/Growth teams, email prospecting, critical GDPR compliance. Outside this perimeter (cold call, US market, small volumes), the tool shows its limitations. This is an accepted positioning choice, not a flaw, but you need to be aware of it before committing yourself.

Our opinion: who is Dropcontact for?

Dropcontact is for you if :

  • You mainly target France and Europe: that’s where Dropcontact excels, with very high enrichment rates.
  • Email is your main outbound prospecting channel, and you want to protect your domain reputation with minimal bounce rates.
  • GDPR compliance is an imperative for your company (regulated sector, CNIL audits, customers sensitive to the subject)
  • You already use Pipedrive, HubSpot or Salesforce and want to automate the cleaning and enrichment of your CRM.
  • You have a regular volume of enrichment (500+ contacts/month) that allows you to amortize the subscription.
  • You need French legal data (SIREN, NAF, VAT, workforce) to qualify and score your accounts.

Skip it if :

  • Your prospecting strategy relies mainly on cold calling (Dropcontact does not supply cell phones).
  • You prospect extensively in the U.S. or internationally (enrichment rates drop significantly outside Europe).
  • Your needs are very occasional or low (less than 200-300 contacts/month), as the minimum plan of €29/month will not be profitable.
  • You’re looking for a strictly pay-as-you-go model with no commitment – Dropcontact operates on a monthly subscription basis.
  • You need an all-in-one solution (enrichment + sequences + CRM)
Our final opinion on Dropcontact
Dropcontact is the obvious choice for French Sales and Growth teams who want to combine data quality, CRM automation and GDPR compliance. It’s the only enhancer your DPO will validate without batting an eyelid. Test it for free on your target audience to measure the real enrichment rate.
