Moosend is an easy-to-use email marketing software offering a wide range of features at very affordable prices.

Moosend doesn’t offer a free plan (just a 30-day trial), and is limited in functional depth compared to other tools on the market. But it’s still an effective solution for managing email campaigns, with a very attractive price/performance ratio for small teams.

Email marketing

Moosend’snewsletter creation tool makes it easy to design personalized campaigns. It offers fewer free templates than most competitors, but they’re clean and well-organized.

You can modify the templates to suit your needs and save your favorites in the library. You can also import your own templates, from your own computer, or from an online source via their URL or HTML code.

Moosend also lets you design your marketing campaign from scratch using drag-and-drop content blocks, such as images and videos, buttons, text, HTML blocks, timers or dynamic content.

With dynamic content, you can personalize mails, for example by indicating the recipient’s name, displaying specific blocks based on their location, or defining recommendations based on the pages they’ve visited on your site.

Moosend lets you perform A/B tests, and test the sender, subject and content of the e-mail. You can preview the appearance of e-mails on computer, tablet and mobile devices, and trigger the free spam test to check whether they will pass customer filters.

In terms of collaboration, each team member can add comments to the drafts of the others’ e-mails, in the “comments” mode. Users can then mark them as “resolved” or “unresolved”.

Automation

Once you’ve defined your campaign, the flow generator lets you automate the entire process: you can design your own flows, and define triggers, sequences and compartments so that the user journey is fully automated.

For example, if someone signs up via a registration form, you can send them a welcome e-mail, then, a day later, trigger a follow-up if they don’t open it.

Moosend makes it easy to define multiple paths for each trigger. You can define filters according to the trigger and choose the corresponding action.

In addition to the ability to design your own workflows and user paths, Moosend offers pre-designed marketing automation sequence templates to make the process simple and fluid.

Moosend also offers a VIP campaign that generates exclusivity and encourages higher purchase volumes from your key prospects.

Lead capture

Moosend offers effective tools for capturing leads. The integrated landing page builder features “drag and drop” functionality and offers a wide range of customization options with numerous ready-to-use templates.

There are countdown timers to create urgency, and “success booster” modules, such as Facebook and Google Analytics pixel tracking, custom JavaScript, bot protection, custom fonts and RGPD compliance.

Subscription forms include pop-ups, inline forms, floating bars and boxes.

Moosend lets you choose between mobile and desktop users, select forms based on location, and add certain cookies for dynamic forms.

Contact management

Managing your subscriber lists is pretty straightforward on Moosend. The tool covers all the bases, such as double opt-in for your subscribers: once on registration, then again by e-mail.

Moosend has a large number of predefined filters for working on segmentation, so that campaigns can be adjusted according to subscriber behavior.

Moosend offers 9 preset segment templates and 33 filter criteria. You can use Web Tracking to modify your filters according to a contact’s actions.

Last but not least, e-mail deletion lists ensure effective blocking of addresses of people who no longer wish to be contacted in all your campaigns and mailing lists.

MailerLite is one of Moosend’s direct competitors in the small structure segment. They offer similar functionalities at about the same price/performance ratio. It’s best to get a feel for both tools and choose the one you feel most comfortable with.
