Hubspot is an all-ine-one CRM solution that is among the best CRM software on the market. This tool offers, beyond its strict CRM functionality, excellent marketing automation, reporting andautomation features.

Paradoxically, Hubspot is recognized both for its free tool and for its exponential price curve as soon as you need to process large volumes of data or access advanced features. What you need to know :

  • Hubspot is an ecosystem that offers many different tools and plans, making it a comprehensive software package for a wide range of needs. The CRM suite offer is particularly interesting. You can save up to 40% on a complete CRM suite (CRM, marketing automation, ticketing, reporting, the whole package). On the other hand, each tool, taken independently, is quite expensive, and it can be difficult to find your way around the pricing due to the multitude of offers.
  • Hubspot works with add-ons to allow you to increase the volume of data processed, useful in scale-up phases or if you process a lot of data. But you have to be ready to pay the price, because it goes up fast.
  • Hubspot offers a free version that gives access to the various tools in the CRM suite, but this is rather limited and insufficient for a company with a team of more than a few people, and as soon as data volumes increase a little.

Licensing costs at Hubspot

Hubspot divides its product into 5 suites, each with a different price tag

  • The Marketing Hub – These are marketing automation tools. Rates are based on the volume of marketing contacts and the functional scope.
  • Sales Hub – Hubspot’s sales CRM software. Rates are based on number of users and functional scope
  • Service Hub – Hubspot’s ticketing software. Same pricing structure as CRM
  • Hub CMS – Hubspot’s website editor (like WordPress or Webflow). Prices are based on functional scope
  • The “Operations Hub” – This is the set of functions that allows you to take even greater advantage of the other 4 suites. Prices are based on the volume of data to be processed and the functional scope.

Hubspot Marketing Hub: Price list

For each plan, Hubspot Marketing proposes a limited number of emails to be sent:

  • Free: 2000 emails sent per month, with Hubspot logo
  • Starter: 5 times the number of contacts per month
  • Professional: 10 times the number of contacts per month

Hubspot’s CMS software offers a wide range of functions, from website creation to web hosting, including reporting and monitoring tools.

The CMS hub offers four plans:

  • A free map
  • Starter plan at €23/month
  • 360/month Pro plan
  • An Enterprise plan at €1,180/month

In addition to these functionalities, Hubspot’s CMS offers specific add-ons:

  • The free SSL certificate to secure your content and your leads’ data.

Hubspot Operations Hub: Rates & features

Hubspot Operations Hub offers four plans:

  • Starter: 20 euros per month / account
  • Pro: 790 euros per month / account
  • Company: 1960 per month / account

There are no special add-ons for this tool, apart from test accounts, as with the CMS.

Hubspot Add-ons

All the add-ons below apply to the entire HUbspot account. If you use Marketing Hub & Sales Hub, you’ll have the same limit as if you use only one of the two tools.

With the exception of the API limit increase, all the add-ons below are reserved for pro and enterprise versions.

Increase API limit

Limits :

  • Hubspot authorizes 500,000 API calls per day for all Pro and Enterprise products.
  • The tool enables a maximum of 150 requests every 10 seconds via the API for all Pro and Enterprise products.
  • The tool limits the number of applications to 100 per developer account, and 20 private applications per HubSpot account. There is a limit of 1,000 webhook subscriptions per application.
  • The solution is limited to 25 extension parameters per application, 750 event types per application, 500 properties per chronological event type.
  • API search terminals are limited to four requests per second per authentication token.

Add-on :

  • The add-on authorizes up to 1,000,000 API calls.
  • Each user is entitled to a maximum of 200 requests every 10 seconds via the API.
  • The price is €490/month.

Increase the number of reports

Limit:

  • Hubspot offers 25 dashboards and 30 reports per dashboard for the pro version, 50 and 30 for the enterprise version.

Add-on :

  • With the add-on, you can access up to 300 additional dashboards and 3,000 customized reports.
  • This add-on module costs €200/month.

Increase the number of lists

Limit:

  • Hubspot allows you to have 1000 active lists and 10000 static lists for the pro version, 1500 and 1500 for the enterprise version.

Add-on :

  • The add-on lets you add 100 active and 100 static lists.
  • You’ll need to spend €200/month to benefit.

Increase the number of call minutes

Limit:

  • The tool limits calls to 12,000 minutes per account per month for the enterprise version.

Add-on :

  • Thanks to the add-on, you can benefit from 1,000 extra minutes of calls per month for €49/month.

Increase the number of telephone numbers

Limit:

  • With Hubspot, you can have just 3 phone numbers for the pro version, 5 for the enterprise version.

Add-on :

  • This add-on allows you to have 5 additional phone numbers per month for a monthly fee of €25.

Increase the number of teams

Limit:

  • The Pro formula allows up to 10 teams, and up to 300 with the Corporate formula.

Add-on :

  • The add-on allows you to create up to 100 teams for €200/month.

What are Hubspot’s free versions worth?

Hubspot is one of the only solutions to offer so much for free. The free offer allows you to familiarize yourself with CRM, and offers interesting possibilities if your needs are limited.

But Hubspot won’t allow you to handle large volumes of data, sales or contacts, or to set up complex processes that require automation and customized reporting. Nor will you be able to receive payments, make calls or access add-ons.

In all free tools, the Hubspot logo will be present, which can be off-putting. To remove the logo and continue to access the Hubspot suite, the Starter CRM offer starts at €50/month.

Each tool’s free plan offers interesting but limited functionality:

  • Marketing Hub: The free package provides access to simple forms, up to 5 lists, 2,000 emails sent/month, 3 dashboards (10 reports each), live chat module with Facebook Messenger integration. But you won’t be able to take advantage of marketing automation features.
  • Sales Hub: The free Sales Hub plan lets you connect to a single email address (shared inbox), store up to 5 documents per customer account, and track email opens & clicks. You can also take advantage of an online appointment link, a sales pipeline per Hubspot account, 5 active lists and 100 static lists. On the other hand, there’s only one inbox, and sales automation isn’t possible.
  • Service Hub: The free offer includes one ticket pipeline per account, a shared inbox and 200 notifications/month. You’ll also have access to live chat with the Hubspot logo and conversational bot, but with limited functionality. The free plan does not allow you to make calls, automate tokens, payments or contact scoring.
  • Hub CMS: The free plan allows you to take advantage of up to 25 web pages, 1 blog with the Hubspot logo. It also offers the possibility of creating multi-language versions in up to 3 languages, and allows you to benefit from mobile optimization, basic SEO recommendations and landing pages with limited functionality. You’ll also have access to standard web traffic analysis dashboards.
  • Operations Hub: The free package includes data synchronization, ticketing, email response tracking and 10 customizable properties. On the other hand, it doesn’t allow you to benefit from data sets or data quality control.

Hubspot’s Starter CRM suite

The Starter CRM Suite includes all Hubspot tools (marketing automation, sales CRM, help desk, CMS, and operations), for €50/month for the Starter version, or €360/year, i.e. 40% off the monthly rate.

The price is unbeatable on the market, and for the features on offer, it’s clearly worth it. But you need to be careful and analyze your needs before subscribing to this offer, because it can quickly become very expensive, especially if you commit to a yearly contract.

How do I negotiate license prices with Hubspot?

There are a number of tricks you can use to save a little money, depending on the package you choose.

  • Length of commitment. A yearly commitment to Pro saves you 10%, and if you wish to take out a 24 or 36-month commitment, you can benefit from an even greater discount.
  • Add-ons. If you anticipate your needs well before signing the contract, you’ll be able to use the add-ons in the bargaining balance to obtain a discount. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay for add-ons on a pay-as-you-go basis. Be careful, though, not to overlook the cost of estimation, as the limits are (deliberately?) rather complex.
  • Identify your needs. Generally speaking, it’s often worth investing a little to define your needs and select the right options.

Hubspot implementation & onboarding costs

In addition to the costs of the plans themselves, there are the costs of implementation and onboarding. Depending on the plan you adopt, they can be higher or lower.

Hubspot offers specific onboarding for startups that includes an onboarding plan and resources, a 1-hour call with a customer onboarding specialist and access to the Hubspot for Startups network and community. Please note that the call must be made within 30 days of subscribing to this €275 plan.

Hubspot’s integration services can be very useful. All technical configurations are yours. In other words, Hubspot doesn’t carry out data migration or onboarding per se, but gives you advice on how the tool works and how to get to grips with the different plans.

Hubspot is a comprehensive solution that supports a wide range of marketing and sales functions. It’s a solution that can be customized ad infinitum, which can be costly to integrate.

But above all, beyond the initial implementation, you need to bear in mind that the Hubspot instance is bound to evolve regularly, as your teams and processes change. It’s therefore important to have a partner or an in-house person (sales ops / marketing ops) who is competent in Hubspot, knows your configuration well, and can evolve the installation over time and guarantee compliance with best practices (nomenclature, uniqueness of fields, data quality, etc.).
